2006 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
£79,995 | Location: United Kingdom
The Ferrari 599 was the marque’s two-seat flagship, replacing the 575M Maranello in 2006 as a 2007 model. Styled by Pininfarina under the direction of Ferrari’s Frank Stephenson, the 599 GTB debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in February 2006. It is named for its total engine displacement (5999 cc), Gran Turismo Berlinetta nature, and the Fiorano Circuit test track used by Ferrari.
The Tipo F140 C 6.0 L (5999 cc) V12 engine produces a maximum 612 hp, making it the most powerful series production Ferrari road car of the time. At the time of its introduction, this was one of the few engines whose output exceeded 100 hp per litre of displacement without any sort of forced-induction mechanism such as supercharging or turbocharging. Its 448 ft·lbf of torque was also a record for Ferrari’s GT cars. Most of the modifications to the engine were done to allow it to fit in the Fiorano’s engine bay (the original Enzo version could be taller as it would not block forward vision due to its mid-mounted position).
A huge rear diffuser starts to offer some indication of how Ferrari would develop this GT to offer dynamism alongside traditional GT traits, although it is the sensational rear buttresses that court most of the styling praise. Ferrari aerodynamicists could provide evidence that compressing and accelerating the airflow between the buttresses and the cabin created a vortex over the boot lid that developed down force without generating drag.
RHD UK Car, 20 Inch Monolithic Rims, Fully Electric Carbon Fibre Seats, Carbon Fibre Driver Zone + LEDs, Carbon Fibre Dashboard, Carbon Fibre Central Tunnel, Scuderia Ferrari Shields, iPod Installation, Electric Steering Column, Carbon Ceramic Brakes With Yellow Brake Calipers, Dedication Plate in Silver, Leather Headlining, Climate Control.
In a well suited Nero Daytona metallic paint this 599 is defined by a subtle shade that perfectly suits each one of the GT’s beautiful curves. The paintwork presents in a uniform, consistent shade throughout and remains in superb condition having been carefully looked after by previous ownership.
Scuderia shields sit proudly on both wings, highlighted in yellow and matching the calipers hiding behind the silver wheels.
This 599 features a quite stunning combination of Cuoio Hide and contrast stitching; a unique specification that features a three tiered dash, leather headliner and luggage shelf. Apart from some light wear to the driver bolster the carbon seats remain unmarked throughout, exhibiting original shape and integrity without major wear to report. Carrying on the carbon fibre interior theme is the driver zone with LEDS, carbon fibre dashboard & central tunnel. The stereo head unit has been upgraded for modern phone technology, the original still remaining with the car.
Engine & Transmission:
This sensational V12 engine is very closely related to the Enzo and lost none of its intake rasp or divine exhaust note.
There’s no question that the F1-SuperFast gearbox and bespoke dynamic stability system plays it’s role in contributing Supercar acceleration to GT refinement; a mere 100 milliseconds – compares with 150ms for the Enzo and 250ms for the 575.
Having been over serviced throughout it’s life the drivetrain and engine are in excellent health.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes:
The Monolithic rims present in excellent order, free of marks or scrapes, with bolts and badges again in the same condition,
Matching P-Zero rubber adorns all four corners showing even tread depth appropriate for many more miles to come.
